you do not have to be a fire
for
every mountain blocking you.
you could be a water
and
soft river your way
to freedom
too.

Somatic Psychotherapy NW - A place to come home.
Hi, I'm Whitney (she/they), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate offering somatic and IFS therapy online and in-person in Washington State.
It takes real courage to reach out. I’m so happy you’re here.
I graduated from Antioch University New England with a Master of Arts in Couples and Family Therapy. Starting July 1st, I will be offering online therapy and in-person relational somatic therapy for individual adults, couples, and teens (16+) who have a spark of curiosity about their own healing path and reside in WA state.
A little about who I am and how I work:
I came to this work from a lifetime of yoga, movement, massage therapy, education, and performance. I have always been curious about the language the body speaks and how we learn to ignore, bypass, attack, and occasionally listen to it. This curiosity has led me through many lives as a teacher, massage therapist, performer, and parent.
I am a neurodivergent, white femme from Seattle, currently able-bodied and educated. I am passionate about bridging the healing of the body with the contexts in which we live. Having personally experienced the distress of hyperactive nervous system activations, I approach my somatic therapy work with deep compassion. For those who have experienced trauma, complex PTSD, or relational wounding, restoring self-trust and connection can feel remarkably hard to achieve. This is the territory we’ll explore together.
As a relational somatic therapist, I won't sit back and "mmm hmmm" at you. You will hear me laugh. I might ask what it's like to live in your body. Healing is not linear, sometimes it gets weird — and I'm here for it. Together, we'll work to identify what matters most to you and how to hold that in relationship with yourself and the world in a way that brings real relief.
My work centers attachment-based therapy, developmental and complex trauma, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I bring a somatic framework to our sessions that is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and creativity to help you find your way back to yourself.
